The poets that I am thinking of doing are Dylan Thomas, William Blake, or Langston Hughes. The poet I am leaning to is Dylan Thomas. I chose Dylan because of the way he caught my eye unlike the other poets. His background history caught my eye. The info such as of how he was a neurotic, sickly child who shied away from school and preferred reading on his own interested me on how such a background can make him a world famous poet. The main thing that I admire would be the way his poems were wrote. Dylan wrote about emotion. I think that is how poetry should be written unlike poets that try to plant an image or produce an issue. I especially don’t like the poems that are centered around a theme that tells you what to do or what not to do.
Over the last two periods I experienced easier ways to find the light switch in a poem. Also I found different ways to look at a poem instead of just trying to get it. I learned to see the emotion and create a picture of what was happening and what the poet is trying to show me instead of trying to tell me. The last two blocks were fun and interesting.
